Gator Gully Splash Park Opening Postponed
Friday, April 20th, 2007Orlando, Florida: The grand opening of Gator Gully Splash Park, previously planned for April 21st, has been temporarily postponed due to a last minute change that is meant to enhance the overall guest experience causing a delay in the park’s ability to complete the permitting process.
Events and promotions planned as part of the grand opening event will still be offered along with a variety of events, in-park discounts, and children’s activities to compliment the 110-acre theme park’s outdoor entertainment and family fun.
Gator Gully Splash Park is the areas most unique splash zone featuring unusual water sources crafted to resemble some of the parks most popular residents. Over a quarter- acre and ready to soak, the splash park features a row of giant egrets spilling water from their beaks; dueling water guns mounted on the backs of two giant gators lined up and waiting for a friendly squirtfest with your neighbor; an ol’ jalopy overrun with water and places to splash; a bucket tree that is just perfect for a slow dash and spray for the little ones; and Grandma’s Wet Shack, a veritable fountain of water-based fun for kids of all ages to splash, squirt and play in truckloads of cool H2O.
Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve, combining “Old Florida” charm with exciting, new exhibits and entertainment. The park opened as a roadside attraction in 1949. Today, it provides affordable family fun with thousands of alligators, crocodiles, aviary, breeding marsh with observation tower, petting zoo, nature walk, educational wildlife programs, gift shop, Florida’s best train-ride, restaurant, the new Gator Gully Splash Park and much more. One-of-A-Kind reptilian shows include: the Gator Wrestlin’ Show, Gator Jumparoo and the Up-close Encounters Show.
