What made you want to become a zoo keeper; was there a particular experience that helped you make this decision?
I always thought I would work with animals or children. When I started working here, I just knew zookeeping was for me.
What was the craziest thing that has ever happened to you at Gatorland?
Years ago we had to move the Emus and the deer to different exhibits. It was very difficult and it took a lot of us a very long time. You just had to be there!
What is your favorite animal at Gatorland and why?
I have so many favorites: the Macaw (Harley), the skunk (Orwell Roscoe Pancake III), and the porcupines (Morgan and Fluffy). That is why working here is so great. I get to work with all kinds of different animals.
If you had a choice to travel anywhere in the world to study animals, where would you go and what animal would you study?
There are many places that I would like to go. However, Australia and South Africa top the list.
What is the best part of working here at Gatorland?
All the different animals that I get to work with.
Have you ever had any close calls working with alligators or any other animal here at Gatorland?
A few bird bites but nothing too serious, thankfully!
What made you decide to work with alligators?
They fascinate me.
What kind of pets do you have at home?
I have 2 dogs named Kyra and Kaos, a cat named Bubba, and some fish.
What kind of hobbies do you have?
I love sports. And in my free time I love to go boating and skiing.
Do you have any special talents?
I have been a zookeeper and a vet technician for years now. I am awesome at blood draws and catheter placement.
Do you have someone who inspired you to get in to this field?
I really have no specific person who inspired me. I just fell into this field and loved it.
